The Bosch BMI160 inertial measurement unit (IMU) is a low-power 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope integrated in a single package, designed for smartphones, tablets, wearable device markets such as high-precision, with constantly hearing (always-on) applications.

BMI160 features:

  • Ultra-low power, high precision, smallest package 6-axis inertial measurement unit
  • Let wearable devices never want news (always-on) application possible
  • Support for precision 9-axis sensor fusion data calculation

Immersive games, augmented reality and the emerging three-dimensional interior scanning applications, accuracy and real-time performance of the user experience has almost demanding. BMI160 can inertial measurement unit (accelerometers and gyroscopes) and plug-in data geomagnetic sensor for accurate data synchronization mechanism excellence, makes it all possible. High requirements for precision, low latency and ultra-low power consumption of 9-axis sensor data fusion applications, BMI160 it is the best choice.

BMI160:
The BMI160 is a small, low power, low noise 16-bit inertial measurement unit designed for use in mobile applications like augmented reality or indoor navigation which require highly accurate, real-time sensor data.
In full operation mode, with both the accelerometer and gyroscope enabled, the current consumption is typically 950 μA, enabling always-on applications in battery driven devices. It is available in a compact 14-pin 2.5 x 3.0 x 0.8 mm3 LGA package.

Applications:

  • Augmented reality and immersive gaming
  • 3D-scanning and indoor mapping
  • Indoor navigation, pedestrian dead-reckoning, step-counting
  • 6- and 9-axis sensor fusion, air mouse applications
  • Optical image stabilization
